But how can you know if your unit is efficient? It's easy. Every air conditioning system has a rating for cooling efficiency called a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER).

SEERs are a standard measurement of cooling efficiency used by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The law prohibits the manufacturing of any air conditioner with less than 10 SEER. With SEER ratings of 12 or above, the XR 12 exceeds those standards today.
